Malee-boo Gets the Royal Treatment

It's far too early in the a.m. for Your Mama to make heads or tales of this but there are people saying and others whispering that Britain's Prince William and his gurly-pal Kate where house hunting along the sparkling shores of Malee-boo. The reports all indicate His Highness and Not Quite Her Highness Yet took a spin around a house with 4 bedrooms, 4.5 bathroom, a winding drive way leading to a 4 car garage, and a close to 8 million dollar asking price.

Does this sound to anyone besides Your Mama exactly like the Pacific Coast Highway house that Tinseltown aristocrat Leo DiCaprio bought from t-shirt purveyor James Perse in January 2007 for $6,350,000 and flipped back onto the market in November of 2008 with a wildly increased $8,999,000 asking price? Some of the children may recall that with no buyers swooping in to snatch up the bluff top spread right away, Mister DiCaprio also put the house out for long term lease at $25,000 per month.

It appears that lucky Mister DiCaprio is in escrow on that property (last priced at $7,999,000) but all reports say the princely pair are not the buyers. Sorry kids, but that's all we got on that one.

Perez mentioned something about Leo's house this weekend.

Leo'house was a 2bedroom/2bathroom beachfront property, with the PCH in its backyard - not the 4b/4b the royals are looking for and not the best choice for privacy and security

What are the writers at 'The Luxist' smokin? Why would Prince William want a property in LA? When he takes vacations it's always South Africa, Mozambique, Kenya etc ... Sometimes the Caribbean, sometimes Australia/New Zealand but as a family collectively they very rarely go to the U.S ...

What's more, him & Kate can't even go to the wilds of Africa without paparazzi following them & getting shots yet they apparently still managed to arrive in LA of all places & drive all the way up the coast without one of LA's notorious paparazzi agencies finding out they're there ... I'm sure he wishes he could evade the paparazzi like that!

Malibu is definitely too pedestrian for a Royal. With so many home obligations it is unlikely he would want the bother of a house in this location..........maybe they saw smokin' Harry.

Leo's house is 4 bedrooms, when including the guest house Anon 724... do your homework

it does sound liek it could have been dicrapio's residence but who knows

there arent many houses with "winding driveways & four car garages" in malibu.... esp at 8 million dollars.

Ridiculous. Every ten years there's a rumor about royals in Hollywood and it makes no sense at all. Probably another fakester-- why be a Rockefeller when you can be a royal Brit?

Anonymous said...

I agree. The whole story is ludicrous.

Perhaps because Kykuit is better looking than Windsor Castle.

Windsor Castle is stunning! You're not really comparing like for like though ... Windsor is the largest & oldest castle in the world.

Anonymous said...

Sounds like total bull. I don't see William buying a house in the US. Even if he did, it would not be in Malibu where their are paps up and down the PCH.

StPaulSnowman said...

Yes it is stunning and a great building but I think the largest castle in the world is in Prague. Be that as it may, I was referring to it relative to its beauty as a home and I think Kykuit, and many English country houses are far more beautiful architecture.

Ladies, ladies! You sound like a bunch of rich Dallas housewives, dicussing the relative attractiveness of Kykuit & Windsor Castle--

They would rent something but NEVER buy. Can you imagine what the gutter press in the UK would do to them?

Anonymous said...

From these comments it appears the press isn't the only thing best left in the gutter.

The Royal Family DON'T rent! Besides, what they do with private wealth has nothing to do with the British tabloids, it's not like the British tax payer is going to be paying for a beach house in Malibu!

He was here and he went to Burger King where they say "kids are Kings" and to try on the Crowns they give away!

A British Royal will never live in Malibu...the same nonsense about a Malibu beach house was said of Diana, Princess of Wales, 15 years ago.

Malibu isn't safe or private enough to even be a consideration. The only member of the family (well, she used to be a member) to successfully integrate into the US is Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York and even then, it's a condo on Central Park South that she only uses a few months out of the year, the rest of her time is spent, no surprise, in the English countryside.

then he went to Disneyland and Knotts Berry Farm, ending the day by putting his handprints in the forecourt of Grauman's.

I thought the guy dressed up as Disney's Aladdin in front of Grauman's Chinese this weekend was a little too tall and white. I gave him $20 but only because he grabbed my ass while getting our photo taken. Times must be tough for the royals.

'Times must be tough for the royals'

Yeah, those £15,000 bar bills at the end of the nite at Mahiki & Boujis really do empty your wallet!

Anonymous said...

No, Uncle Andrew!

Anonymous said...

Or cousin Freddy, he's usually high so forgive him!

I agree that for William and Kate to fly in and out of LA, and take a tour of Malibu real estate without a single paparrazi spotting them, is a bit hard to digest. Not suggesting it's altogether impossible, but if they did manage to pull it off, they could teach the CIA a thing or two about undercover espionage.

I once saw Andrew on a beach in the Caribbean--years ago-- you woulda though a sailor would have a better body. Shapeless, pale-- no, I don't want him on our team, although I do hear tell....

Anonymous said...

Hello magazine would be all over a royal visit to Our Fair City-- btw I read in that estimable rag that cousin Freddie is marrying a tv "presenter"--- another day, another beard for our royals. Note: This is where the royal suckups are supposed to come in to say that the very rich live by different rules and can fuck whomever they like, spend their money any way they like etc and that we bourgeois nobodies are just jealous.

She's not a presenter, she's an actress. And Freddie definitely isn't gay, far from it actually.

Anonymous said...

we will need a notarized affidavit on that, please. Have you slept with him?

Anonymous said...

Making up false rumors about people is kinda pathetic - that's all I've got to say ... You clearly don't know anything so there is no point even discussing it.

Anonymous said...

after all, some days he may not remember who he's been in bed with the night before

re 214: ... ", she said as she sashayed through the revolving door, endeavoring not to get her fur caught in it...."

lmao 2:18, thanks. I was tempted to respond to that comment also, but was too irate. You expressed my sentiments more artfully than I could have.

This tsunami of feline commentary is spectacular! Not even recent diatribes against Madge can equal the comments about our Mother Country's Royals. Caring about these people must be something deep in our national inferiority complex. Just a mention of the balding young prince touched a nerve. Just leave the classy grey queen alone!

William was in the UK over the weekend for the Queen's extended birthday celebrations, so consider this one a load of turkey. Inneressing to see how chinese whispers can blow out though!

Anonymous said...

The future King of England would never buy a house in California.
The only place in America there is a chance that he might buy a home would be the Hamptons.

Reading is your friend. The article says "recently", not "last weekend".

I laughed imagining PRINCE WILLIAM living in Malibu.

I couldn't even imagine. This is the most fabricated story I've heard in a long time.

I live in London, and he was in London during that weekend for celebrations and there is absolutely no way in hell the Prince can get to the United States without the press on alert, let alone driving up and down the PCH.

They never ever come to the United States and the only place I can somewhat picture someone like him buying a home in the U.S. is in New York like the Duchess of York.

Anonymous said...

Truly hilarious is now the main stream media is confirming the trip. And how all anyone is reporting is that the trip happened in the last couple of months but people here know the prince's exact movements at all times to know whenever it was, he was somewhere else. You idiots are worse than the rabid Britney & Madonna fans.

Anonymous said...

The Brits love the sun too much therefore they simply wouldn't live in Malibu.

You can't really see the fourth garage door, it's behind the trees.

And to the clueless here, it isn't a House to "live" in. It's a part time house, very private too.
