Afternoon Tidbits and Links: Elton John

Have a delicious look-see via Architectural Digest at what Million Dollar Decorator Martyn Lawrence Bullard did to the glassy, low-slung Beverly Hills (CA) contemporary that music industry icon Sir Elton John and his man-friend/baby daddy David Furnish bought last year for $7,250,000.

Sir Elton and Mister Furnish may have two young sons but they still live a globe-trotting rock star lifestyle and maintain a handful of decadent, high-maintenance digs around the world including in Atlanta, Georgia; in both London and Windsor in the U.K.; Nice, France; and Venice, Italy.

Madame Elton is not a fan of all the lookie loo tour buses driving in front of her house and blocking her Escalade from exiting.

Zada Compoud? Bev Park would love that name on their roster. And I'd love for Mz John to live like the queen she is.

I've always hated the look of fenced off pools, but hopefully their little Rocket Men are leashed.

It's a showroom, and not a very approachable one. Eyeburn.

I liked their Sierra Tower decor; maybe not my personal taste, but I liked it nonetheless. And, while I like this house's style and street for their needs, and I like the grounds re-do they did front and back, I must say that the interior is shockingly AWFUL in innumerable ways. MLB committed these room-by-room tragedies, and "the guys" approved? And, then they proudly (?!) showed such a travesty to AD -- and AD is willing to print/publish? AD should have found a way to gracefully decline upon visiting such HGTV Design Star first round decorating. Oh, my....

OOOOOh Mrs. Elton is already bored with the place!!!! YESSSSSS her royal highness wants something more queenly and with more of the hot eye candy around!! The Birds in WeHo would be just the spot!!

She's in the Platinum Triangle for good. Can only move west from here. I think some big modern place in Bel Air next.

It's painfully clear that Mid-century Modern is not MLB's forte -- probably because MCM is not really all about "glam-glam"

It's about so much more than a few splashes of color thrown against a white background -- imagine the "Regency" nightmare he could make of the Morton/Presley manse...

*shudder*

Yeah, I'm really not digging the decor, aside from the art. Love the Warhol Jackie in the living room, and are those color Mapplethorpe flower portraits in the master bedroom?

Some of the art is fun, but the house looks like an expensive 80s interpretaion of the 60s.

"Delicious" Mama adjust your Meds (notice I did not say cut out the gin and tonics). You can NOT be serious? AD is so over its over, and I agree with the comment by one of the children that he is probably fixing to sell. Who wouldnt? Though I love Bullard's over the top camp in Decorators, this just sad. And Mama.."Man Friend"?? Can we not speak of Mr. Furnish as his partner? I am not gay paternal, but after 2 rug rats and many years together, their partners!
